Vortrag, DHI Washington

Victoria de Grazia is Professor of History at Columbia University and the James R. Barker Professor of Contemporary Civilization. A historian of Europe and Italy, she has written several monographs on twentieth-century Italian history, including How Fascism Ruled Women: Italy, 1922-1945. Her recent work has focused on the globalization of U.S. consumer culture in the twentieth century, culminating in her book Irresistible Empire: America’s Advance through Twentieth Century Europe. A German translation of the book was published in the GHI’s series Transatlantische Historische Studien in 2010.

The Feldman Memorial Lecture was established by the Friends of the German Historical Institute to honor the memory of historian Gerald D. Feldman (1937-2007) and has been made possible by the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung and generous individual donations to the Gerald D. Feldman Lecture Series Endowment Fund.
